EIM Call for Papers and Posters
EIM 2011 provides a forum for information managers, scientists, and informatics researchers to present and discuss advances in environmental information management, analysis, and modeling. EIM invites original, short papers (6 pages) on environmental information management. Authors must follow the EIM Author Guidelines when writing and formatting their paper. Accepted papers will be expected to be presented as 15 minute oral presentations at the conference. In addition, we invite submissions of abstracts for posters to be displayed during the dedicated poster session at the conference. Submissions focusing on the conference theme 'Data Interoperability for Synthesis Science' are encouraged, and additional topics for submissions include (but are not limited to):
- Sensor networking and deployment
- Data acquisition, field-computing devices
- Quality control processing
- Data archival for long-term persistence
- Metadata generation, storage, and management
- Metadata-driven data analysis services
- Data and metadata semantics, controlled vocabularies, and ontologies
- Analysis and modeling frameworks
- Data and metadata versioning and lineage
- Visualization tools
- Geospatial tools, applications, and standards
- Sociology of collaboration and data sharing
Submissions are encouraged that address innovative practical applications, results of design projects, implementations of an organization's practices and innovations, as well as original research and projects, and theoretical developments. The content should clearly point out how the application contributes to innovation of thought or design within the field, how it addresses key challenges, as well as potential impact on practices in the field.
Submissions must adhere to the Author Guidelines (as demonstrated in the Manuscript Template). EIM 2011 will be held September 28-29, 2011 at the Fess Parker Doubletree in Santa Barbara, CA. See http://eim.ecoinformatics.org/eim2011 for details. The paper submission deadline has been extended to June 05, 2011, at which point the entire paper must be uploaded. The poster submission deadline is July 31, 2011, at which point the abstract must be uploaded. At least one author of each paper must register for the meeting at the time of submission in order for the paper to be considered.
Paper submissions will be anonymously peer-reviewed. Papers that are tentatively accepted will be asked for a revised, camera-ready revision that takes into account reviewer concerns and comments. This camera-ready version must be submitted by July 22, 2011. Papers that successfully address reviewer comments in their revised papers will be notified of acceptance by July 31, 2011.
Online Submission System
All submissions should be made through the EasyChair online review system. You will need to create an account in EasyChair, and then submit materials following the instructions in the EasyChair system.
